Miss Emily began dancing at the age of four at Nan’s School of Dance in Greensboro, where she trained until age eighteen. During that time, she was a member of the competitive Company team for four years, gaining performance experience and a deep love for dance.
She has been teaching dance for Nan’s for the past five years and finds it incredibly rewarding to watch her students learn, grow, and discover their own passion for movement. Emily strives to create a supportive and encouraging classroom environment where dancers can build both skill and confidence.
Outside the studio, Emily is a PhD student at NC State University, where she is studying microbiology. She earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at NC State, balancing her academic pursuits with her love of dance.
When she’s not teaching or studying, Emily enjoys baking and gardening. She is excited to continue sharing her love of dance and inspiring the next generation of dancers.
